Find a FSC Certified Product

Customers who are environmentally and socially concerned should support organisations that have FSC certification.

You can search for certified companies, and check FSC certificate validity, in the FSC international database at:
www.fsc-info.org.

(A search can be by name, or by a combination of factors. For example, if you are looking for an Australian supplier, select Australia from the Country menu).

There are now three types of FSC labels (you may still see some other labels, from the prior labelling system):                                        

FSC 100%: Products manufactured with 100 percent FSC-certified virgin fibre from FSC-certified forests.

FSC MIX: Products manufactured with a combination of FSC-certified virgin fibre (from FSC-certified forests), controlled sources and/or recycled wood or fibre. This label can include the Mobius loop.

FSC Recycled: Products manufactured with 100 percent recycled fibre of which at least 85 percent is postconsumer (PCW)cycled material.

Greenpeace Good Wood Guide

Greenpeace Asia-Pacific maintains a web directory allowing you to search for timber-derived products from ethical and ecologically sustainable sources, including those that are FSC certified. The Guide can be accessed here.

For those looking to source Australian certified timber, Certificates issued to Australian forest managers cover the following species:

Eucalyptus fastigata (Brown Barrel, Cut-Tail)

Printer paper

If you want to use FSC certtified paper for your home or business laser or ink-jet, look for the FSC logo on the packaging.

There are a number of quality, FSC certified printer papers available in Australia. These include:

Evolve Paper (Evolve Business 100% Recycled Range)
Mondi Paper  (IQ Premium Range, Color Copy Range)
Fuji Xerox Paper (Performer+ Range, Business+ Range, )
OfficeMax Paper (OfficeMax Multipurpose Plus A4, OfficeMax Multipurpose Plus A3, OfficeMax 50% Recycled A4)

FSC certified printer paper can be found at all good office supply shops, including OfficeWorks and OfficeMax.   

Clarification regarding Australian Paper:

“Australian Paper is FSC Chain of Custody certified under SW-CoC-001966.
Stock of Australian made FSC certified office paper is available through Corporate Express Australia.  This stock was manufactured prior to Australian Paper’s decision to change the scope of its FSC certification and includes the EXP 800 brand.
Australian Paper continues to manufacture a range of FSC certified printing papers at its Shoalhaven Mill.  These include Envi Recycled, Onyx, Revive, Saxon, Scanright, Securaspeed, Stephen and Tudor RP.  Please check your local Australian Paper merchant stockist for supply details.
Australian Paper will continue to  review opportunities to manufacture products with  FSC labelling at the Shoalhaven and Maryvale Mills and will advise of any future additions to this range.”

Australian Paper is not currently producing any certified FSC Certified office paper from their Maryvale Mill. There are many brands of paper affected. A list can be found on the Australian Paper website.
Under FSC Trademarks guidelines, stock produced prior to the certification decision of 22 August 2011 may be retailed for a period of 6 months from that date bearing the FSC logo.
