The 2012 FSC Australia Annual General Meeting will be held at the City of Melbourne Bowling Club from 12pm on the 30th of May. All FSC Australia members are welcome to attend.
Following the AGM there will be three important events, so make sure you pencil this into your diary now! These are:
- Karen Steer will attend from FSC International to provide an update on Controlled Wood, the results to date of the international working party and to hear any comments or concerns of members about Controlled Wood.
- At 4pm, FSC Australia will hold a Chain of Custody Certification Workshop. This is a great opportunity for those that wish to become certified to workshop the requirements. This is free for members and also open to non-members for a small fee.
This will be a very important afternoon for FSC Australia members so make sure you reserve the date.

Please read below for more details on each of the day's events:
Update on the Revised FSC Principles and Criteria
Immediately following the FSC Australia AGM, Alistair Monument, Director of FSC Asia-Pacific, will update FSC Australia members on the recently revised FSC principles and criteria (P&C). Alistair will be explaining what this revision will mean for a national standard in Australia.
Importantly, Alistair will be explaining the FSC approach to developing International Generic Indicators (IGI's) - baseline requirements from which Forest Stewardship Standards shall be based.
For more information about both IGI's and the revised FSC P&C head to the FSC international site by following this link.
Controlled Wood Information Session and QandA
At 1.30pm on the 30th of May (following the AGM), FSC Australia will be hosting a detailed session on the progress of the FSC Controlled Wood certification revision process. This will allow FSC members the opportunity to engage with the controlled wood working group (the Australian representatives being Sean Cadman (FSC Australia Chair) and Kevin O'Grady (Pinnacle Consulting)).
Also attending the session will be Karen Steer (Policy Manager, FSC International) to answer your questions and to offer an FSC international perspective. The objective of this session is to clarify the implications of the FSC Controlled Wood revision in the Australian context.
